Past Activities

PEHE has been engaged in implementing and launching various projects and activities in the community of this district; we have achieved maximum objectives through various practices in this district. We have also conduct trainings of the staff of Health, Education, NGOs, CBOs and community workers time and again. Through its social mobilization program we have been mobilizing many stakeholders at the time of need; we have organized more than 96 community organizations in different parts of the Jamshoro, Dadu and Badin districts. Since last four years we have been conducting the following activities.
In Jamshoro district PEHE has not only a full fledged office in Kotri but also has worked with parents and teachers of children under 5 years age in all the four tehsils of the district. With a team of three paid staff members and two part-time doctors we have been able to implement Community Health Awareness Program (CHAP) in Kotri, Thano Bola Khan, Manjhand and Sehwan Tehsil of district Jamshoro.
With multi-donor partnerships and extensive CBO networks in three districts of Sindh, PEHE enjoys a rare combination of working with grass-root communities and also maintaining good institutional capacity strengthened by a team of dedicated professionals as paid staff, volunteers and members of the BOD.

»  Social Mobilization:
PEHE has facilitated community in Taluka Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah of District Dadu and Golarichi and Badin of District Badin established 30 CBOs in 30 villages with member of 750 members. In this way 50 community meetings and 30 formation meetings conducted in above areas.
»  Capacity Building and Training:
In order to enhance the skills of community members 06 training events were organized by PEHE where 90 members were trained in community management skill training.
05 trainings event of Animal Health worker were organized where 100 both male and female members trained.
»  Environment Up gradation and Tree Plantation:
5000 trees were planted at village Ghari road Mehar.
05 awareness meeting regarding benefits of plantation conducted in five villages of Taluka Mehar.
»  Water and Sanitation:
Maintenance of Dug well at village Ghari.
Conducted 10 health and hygienic sessions in 10 villages of Taluka Mehar and Khairpure Nathan Shah.
»  Live Stock Development and Rearing:
Two sessions of Animal Health Worker Trainings conducted
5000 Livestock vaccinated
»  Employment Support through Skill Development:
Under PEHE employment support 25 community members were given skill development training on candle making for establish micro business.
»  Emergency Respond and Rehabilitation:
PEHE facilitated health workers to vaccinated children against polio campaign in 10 villages of Taluka Mehar and Khairpure Nathan Shah.
PEHE conducted awareness sessions on TB and Hepatitis in 03 villages of Taluka Mehar.
02 awareness sessions conducted in village Ghari and Ghando Gogani of Taluka Mehar.
World Health celebrated at village Faridabad where 50 community members participated.
»  Women Empowerment:
25 female were trained in embroidery and sewing
10 female were trained in making soap and detergent.
»  Education:
02 PEHE English mediums Primary School are running at village Butt Serai and Village Ghari with the support of Sindh Education Foundation.

»  Additional Activities
" PEHE has started Community Health Awareness Program (CHAP) in 2005; through these program 37 awareness workshops conducted where 925 female community members participated.
" PEHE is now implementing UNDP GEF SGP - BP project on "Kamori Goat farming for sustainable environment and livelihood"
" Two Community Supported Schools are running under the supervision of PEHE.
" PEHE has trained 30 Primary Teachers in districts Jamshoro and Dadu.
" Skill Development and Promotion Program (SDPP)
" Re-started two closed government water supply schemes after mobilizing the communities
" Provided training to community regarding the proper management of water supply and efficient usage of water.
" Organized several seminars and workshops on water scarcity in Kacho area.
" Done several trainings, awareness sessions on hygiene promotion in Jamshoro, Dadu and Badin districts
" Conducted three days training program for local community about CCB formation
" Conducted three days on Community Management Skills Training (CMST)
" Conducted three days on Basic Management Skills Training (BMST)
" Conducted three days on Financial Management Skills Training (FMST)
" Conducted one day workshop on Communications Skills.
" Conducted three days training of Animal Health Worker.
" Conducted two days training of Kamori Goat Management
" Conducted one seminar on Environment issues and solutions.
" Conducted twenty seminars and forty sessions at district level.
" PEHE has formed 96 CBOs.
" PEHE has formed 20 Livestock Management Committees.
