Our Flood Responce
Sindh province faced history's biggest flood that heavily affected the villages, cities and entire life of the people. Due to heavy rains in upper side of the country especially KPK and Punjab provinces; whole country was being affected from such super flood and was in the state of emergency.
In Sindh province district Dadu was highly affected among all the districts. PEHE-Sindh being a part of civil society played a pivotal role in response to flood 2010 involving itself in relief operations until the rehabilitation of super killing disaster survivors of the District. These survivors faced many challenges to their day to day life as flood consequences led the population to the great vulnerability. Flood brought a traumatic situation to the population enforcing them to displacement and without the basic necessities of life. This natural disaster made people live in temporary camps depriving them from the basic amenities of life.
PEHE-Sindh with the support of its partners brought temporary shelter (Camps) for the flood survivors to protect them from the chill of winter season. PEHE-Sindh established five tent cities District Dadu, Qamber Shahdatkot, Larkana, Noushehroferoz and Jafarabad in Balochistan which accommodated population of 32117 IDPs and 4370 families. PEHE registered the flood affectees. PEHE-Sindh during the provision of its services was in coordination with the line departments and played a pivotal role in provision of basic needs to the IDPs.
PEHE-Sindh in its areas of intervention distributed Non-Food Items to 4370 families to fulfill their regular needs in camp settings and 4370 Winterization Kits for their regular use consisting of all that necessary items which could protect them from the chill of winter.
